Villa College has opened applications for its May intake, giving students the chance to join many different courses.
More than 100 courses are available, from foundation level programmes to master’s degrees. Students who want to apply can submit their forms through the Villa College website until April 18.
What can students study?
Villa College offers many subjects that can help students prepare for different careers. Some of the areas include:
- Information technology and computer science
- Teaching and education
- Shariah and law
- Tourism and hospitality
- Business management and marketing
- Accounting and finance
- Aviation management
- Engineering
- Nursing and public health
- Psychology
- Mass communication and media
- Culinary arts
International programmes
Some programmes are offered together with international universities. These include universities from the United Kingdom and Malaysia.
For example, engineering students can study the first three years at Villa College and complete their final year at the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom.
Preparing students for jobs
Villa College says its courses are designed to prepare students for real work. Many programmes include practical experiences such as internships, simulations, and training with industry partners.
Flexible learning
Many courses can also be studied online. This allows students who are already working to continue their education while keeping their jobs.
Students can also get extra support, including help with academic writing, English language learning, study skills, and counseling services.
International recognition
Villa College has received recognition from several global education rankings. It is the only higher education institution in Maldives included in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, where it is placed among the top 20 percent of universities worldwide. The college has also received five star ratings in several categories from QS, an international education ranking organisation.
